Even though it’s still October, it’s time to start thinking ahead to February. The deadline to buy your sturgeon spearing licenses for the 2021 season’s coming up fast. You need to purchase licenses before October 31st. The season out on the Winnebago system officially kicks off on Saturday, February 13th and will continue for 15 more days unless the harvest limits are hit.
Here’s a few more things to keep in mind:
- You can start spearing at age 12.
- If a child turns 12 in between November 1st and the last day of spearing, then they can buy a spearing license after October 31st.
- Military personnel are able to purchase a license after the October 31st.
