(WHBL) – Hospital Sisters Health System facilities including Sheboygan’s St. Nicholas Hospital have restored a “no-visitor” policy effective Thursday in order to control the spread of COVID-19. Hospitalizations for the disease have been accelerating locally and statewide and straining hospital resources.
Beginning tomorrow, there will be no visitors allowed in HSHS hospitals’ inpatient units. Exceptions will be made for women and infants, which may have one support person and one doula in their room at all times as part of their care team. Inpatients under age 18 may have 2 parents or guardians staying in their room at all times, and all patients nearing end-of-life will have special arrangements made on a case-by-case basis. Similar arrangements exist in the E-R.
