(WHBL) – If you were born on or after January 1st, 1973, then getting a Wisconsin hunting license requires taking a hunter education certification course. And in most years, that would require an in-person field day for those under age 18. But with COVID in the way, hunters of all ages are now able to be certified through a single, online-only course. The temporary change was recently approved by the Wisconsin DNR and took effect yesterday. DNR hunter education administrator Jon King said that the change aligns Wisconsin’s program with those in other states that are also dealing with COVID-19’s impact on in-person instruction.
Students of the online-only course will be required to pay the approved online vendor fee plus the $10 state-required course fee. More information is available at the following link: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/
