SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has reported 505 active cases of COVID-19 as of the Tuesday, October 13th daily update. That’s a new high, topping by 41 the previous record reached last Friday, and represents 16.9% of the 2,982 cases recorded so far. That, as 86 more persons were added to the “confirmed” roll and 36 persons recovered from COVID-19. Eleven persons are hospitalized for treatment of their symptoms. The case count at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution has been unchanged since Friday at 632 and, with 443 negative tests returned, the county’s positive rate is 16.25%.
Wisconsin saw 3,279 added to the total of 155,471 persons who have now tested positive for COVID-19. With 11,262 negative tests returned, that’s a positive rate of 22.55%. 34 more persons have died of COVID-19 since Monday, raising the state death toll to 1,508. 147 more persons entered hospitals for treatment of their symptoms.
As of Monday, the state DHS reported 950 COVID-19 hospital patients in all, 240 of those housed in intensive care units. Another 248 persons were in hospitals awaiting their test results, and 416 persons were on ventilators.
Sheboygan County residents were reminded by County DPH on Tuesday that community testing will be conducted by the Wisconsin National Guard both on Wednesday, October 14th and on Friday the 16th at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth. Testing is first come – first served for anyone either exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or having come into close contact with a known positive.
