John Meise is being remembered as a bright, affable, and dedicated father…a husband, loving son and brother, and cherished friend and colleague. He is also being remembered by the many friends who grew up with the Sheboygan native who collapsed and couldn’t be revived during last week’s Milwaukee Half Marathon. He was only 36 years old.

John Meise was a member of the North High Class of 2008 and was known as a creative and fun-loving spirit who loved every opportunity he had to sing, dance and write – loves that led him to pursue his degree in journalism from UW-Milwaukee, and eventually led him to land the position of the Brand and Digital Marketing Manager at QuadMed in Sussex. But before all that he met many people in Sheboygan on his paper route as a delivery boy, and as a worker at the Subway on 8th Street.
The family, which is understandably devastated by the loss, includes his wife Lauren, and children Mason (11), Owen (8), Lucy (4) and 1-year-old Isla, who now miss the man who showed up as his best self every day, and whose example will now be present only as a memory. The family, who is struggling at this time, is being supported by a GoFundMe page as well as through mealtrain.com, which accepts donations that go towards meals for the family.

Visitation and a celebration of Meise’s life is scheduled for Friday the 23rd at Krause Funeral Home in Brookfield. Details can be found here.
