Emilee F. Adamavich, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Dimensions Living where she had been residing.
Born December 2, 1940 in Kiel, WI, Emilee was a daughter of the late Frederick “Fritz” and Dorothy Casper Broeckert. She grew up on the family farm and attended Kiel area schools and graduated from Kiel High School. On May 7, 1960, she was united in marriage to Roger Gutschow at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel and together they raised 4 sons. On April 30, 1983, she married John Adamavich in Lake Tahoe, NV.
Emilee worked for Sheboygan County for many years before her retirement. She previously worked at Gilson Brothers Company in Kiel. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. Emilee loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, often visiting them in California and Texas. She and John also traveled by motor home with John’s brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Susie Adamavich around the country for 2 weeks every year. They also kept active with country line dancing, playing cards with family and friends and socializing as active members of the Sheboygan Moose Lodge 438 and the Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299. She was an avid golfer, playing in many leagues over the years. She cherished her lifelong friendships with her childhood friends, Judy, Geraldine and Mary Jane. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality and her ability to make friends with everyone in the room.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John, Sheboygan; her sons, Chris (Annette) Gutschow, Houston, TX, Eric (Maria) Gutschow, Corpus Christi, TX, and Steven (Liz) Gutschow, San Diego, CA; her daughter-in-law, Mari Gutschow, Poway, CA; her step children, Sherri (Brian) Nitsch, Sheboygan, Steven Adamavich, Sheboygan, and Rhonda (Roger) Leland, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her childhood friends, Judy, Geraldine and Mary Jane; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Fritz (Gertie) Broekert and Dorothy (Lester) Meiselwitz; she was preceded in death by her son, Todd Gutschow; her sister, Yvonne (Roman) Woelfel; and her former husband, Roger Gutschow.
A memorial services for Emilee will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Ebenezer UCC, 3215 Saemann Avenue, Sheboygan with the Rev. Lorri Steward officiating. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Aurora Hospice and Dimensions Living of Sheboygan for all of their extraordinary care and support they gave Emilee and her family.
