Duane H. Strausser, age 80, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. He was born in Jackson, MN, on December 12, 1945, to the late George and Evelyn (Stowe) Strausser.
Duane attended local schools in Jackson, MN. On November 11, 1967, he was united in marriage to Jane Leopold at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, MN.
He was employed at the Toro Company for 42 years, starting in 1965 at the Windom, MN plant, then at the Bloomington, MN location, eventually retiring from the Plymouth, WI parts distribution center as a supervisor in 2008. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Sheboygan for many years and served as an usher and he was on the Maintenance Committee as well.
Duane was an avid stock car racer. He drove his modified stock car at the Jackson, Minnesota dirt race track in the 1970’s. Duane had an interest in cars from early on and he was also an excellent roller skater in his earlier years in Windom, Minnesota.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jane Strausser, of Sheboygan; two sons, Adam Strausser, of Piketon, OH, and Scott (Elizabeth) Strausser, of Sheboygan; and his two granddaughters, Callynn and Karissa Strausser. Also surviving are his sisters, Janice Dehmlow and Bonnie Hubert, and his brothers Wesley Strausser, Kenneth Strausser, and Daniel Strausser. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Darry and David Strausser, a sister, Joyce Bilky, brothers-in-law, Tom Hubert, Ed Bilky, Donald Dehmlow, Henry Aden, and a sister-in-law, Carol Aden.
A funeral service for Duane will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2104 Geele Ave. Sheboygan with Pastor Kristin Berglund officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Duane’s name may be directed to the St. Peter Lutheran Church general fund.
