The first of what may be a number of weather advisories needing attention in Sheboygan County this week has been issued by the National Weather Service. In anticipation of potentially heavy rainfall, a Flood Watch has been issued to be in effect from 4 this afternoon until 7 AM Tuesday. Other southeastern Wisconsin counties included are Ozaukee, Washington, and Fond du Lac among others. A flood watch also covers Calumet and Manitowoc Counties along with most of northeastern Wisconsin.
Just under an inch of rain fell on most of Sheboygan County through this Monday morning, putting in motion a rising trend on the Sheboygan River that began on Sunday and continues today. Midday levels were at 5 feet, and minor flooding concerns begin at 6 feet. With another 1-2 inches of rain possible tonight on top of the already-soaked ground, levels will be closely monitored.

Severe weather may add to the rain hazard tonight through Wednesday, and the National Weather Service will provide an update on that situation later this afternoon.
