A law co-authored by Sheboygan Falls Assembly Representative Lindee Brill and New Franken Senator André Jacque to help lessen the burden of a still birth was signed into law by Governor Evers in Madison on Thursday. Assembly Bill 373, now Act 241, provides a $2,000 tax credit to parents of a stillborn child.
Brill noted that on average, 323 Wisconsin babies are lost to stillbirth each year, and while each family must endure the trauma and financial burden that results, no state support had been offered. She said that while nothing removes the pain, Act 241 can now help ease the financial weight.
