Kitty Ann Doyle Wickert 76, of Kiel, passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center Grafton surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Kitty was born on July 12th, 1949, in Madison, WI to Edward A. and Lois H. Burmeister Doyle.
Kitty was united in marriage on September 11th, 1971, to James V. Wickert at the former St. Mary’s Church, Sheboygan Falls. Jim passed away on May 11th, 2015.
Kitty graduated from Our Lady of the Holy Cross High School, Merrill, WI in 1967 and in 1969 she graduated From Lakeshore Technical Institute as an Optometric Assistant.
Kitty was employed through the years at Dr. H. C. Lindman O.D., Dr. Melvin Bradfield O.D., Kohler Co., The Sheboygan Clinic and Home Depot.
Kitty found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, especially while visiting over coffee or sharing a glass of wine-occasions that almost always included good food and lively conversations. She was the family’s keeper of connections. She made sure everyone stayed in touch and up to date, a role she embraced with love in her large, extended family. Kitty cherished her home and took pride in keeping busy with home improvement projects. She also enjoyed traveling alongside Jim on business trips and using their timeshare to vacation. As an avid reader, Kitty was rarely without a book and was delighted in meeting others who had read the same stories, eager to share thoughts and conversations. Above all, Kitty’s greatest love was her family. Family always came first, and she was deeply blessed with loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who in turn inspired her and cared for her through life’s most difficult times. Kitty always faced life challenges with remarkable strength. Diagnosed in 2015 with stage IV Pancreatic cancer, she underwent the Whipple procedure and exceeded all expectations. She was later diagnosed with lung cancer and then in 2019 with Parkinson’s disease, which she met with grace and determination.
