Thunderstorms that rolled through our area overnight didn’t produce the tornadoes that far southern Wisconsin experienced in the evening, but still added to substantial rain totals and caused some power interruptions.
At around 8 PM a power pole was sparking on Highway 28 near Kohler, briefly interrupting power for some in that area. A little later a house on Fallen Oaks Lane in Sheboygan Falls was hit by lightning, causing scorch marks but not igniting a fire. Following that a tree fell on power lines in the 500 block of South 26th Street in Sheboygan causing sparking there.
The National Weather Service reported widespread wind damage in Waukesha, Walworth, Rock, Kenosha, Jefferson and Dodge Counties among others.
