The City of Plymouth has a new Fire Chief. City Administrator and Utilities Manager, Tim Blakeslee, announced the appointment of Jim Klug to the position after his approval was given during a Thursday morning meeting of the Plymouth Police and Fire Commission. He will begin his service as Chief on June 8th this year. The immediate past Chief, Ryan Pafford, stepped down this past December 5th to accept the City Administrator’s position in the City of Kiel.
Klug currently serves as Fire Chief of the Platte Valley Fire Protection District in Kersey, Colorado, where his 25 years of service included heading a full-service emergency services organization, while overseeing the operations, administration, budgeting, and long-range planning for the agency. Following a search by the firm Innovative Public Advisors, Police and Fire Commission Chair Mark Melcher said that Klug “…stood out in a strong candidate pool for his depth of experience, leadership approach, and clear commitment to supporting a positive organizational culture.”
