The document under development that will eventually serve as a guidepost for Sheboygan’s physical, social, and economic development over the next 20 years is now online for review by the people. The plan is required to be updated each 10 years, but the previous one has been in place since 2011.
The current draft of Sheboygan’s Comprehensive Plan incorporates feedback received both directly, and during open house sessions held on March 19th. To further refine it, another community engagement session is scheduled for Friday, April 10th from 8 AM until 11 AM at Uptown Social.
Listeners to WHBL News have questioned those meeting hours, and so we reached out to City Hall, which responded that rather than hold it during midday and evening hours as were the previous two, the 8-11 AM time slot allows anyone who may work 3rd shift to attend an in-person meeting.
Large-format displays of maps, data, and corresponding goals will be there to examine and City Staff will answer questions at the in-person meeting. Those who can’t attend can access those online through the City’s website.
You can also contact the Planning and Development Department directly at 920-459-3383 or email tz1388@sheboyganwi.gov
Ultimately, the City intends final input to identify any needed updates or refinements.
