Barbara J. Klaves, age 77, of Cleveland passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Sheboygan on August 26, 1948, to the late Robert and Betty (Madson) Welsch Sr.. She graduated from Sheboygan South High School and attended Lakeshore Technical College. She was a member of Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church. On November 19, 1966, Barbara was united in marriage to Niles Klaves.
Barbara had a green thumb and loved tending to her gardens, earning the Sheboygan County Master Gardener at one point. She also found happiness in sewing, hiking, biking, camping, reading, cooking and baking.
Barbara is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Nile Klaves; children, Abby (Jimmy) Speyer of , TN, Elise (Dan) St. Michael of Willmar, MN, Amy Klaves of Scottsdale, AZ and Dale (Shelly) Klaves of Bayside; grandchildren, ; brothers, James (Bonnie) Welsch and Robert (Jen) Welsch Jr.; nieces, nephews, other friends and family.

A Funeral Service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church, 1710 N 15th St. in Sheboygan with Pastor Jon MacDonald officiating. Family will greet visitors on Thursday at church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at St. Johannes Cemetery in Cleveland.
