With snow again in the forecast, the City of Sheboygan has a snow emergency in effect…but that’s more coincidence than a sign of bad things to come.
Recovery from the weekend blizzard that put down nearly a foot of snow locally continues, prompting city officials to extend Sheboygan’s snow emergency until noon today so that DPW crews will better be able to clear city streets. Garbage and recycling schedules do resume today, but on a 1-day schedule delay through the rest of the week.
Shoreline Metro had to cancel bus services by midday on Monday but will return to full service today. In Calumet County, a ban on towing vehicles stuck in ditches was lifted Monday afternoon, while an order mandating towing of abandoned vehicles from Sheboygan County-managed roads and highways expired at 3 yesterday.
As for new snow, the National Weather Service is advising that less than an inch of snow is expected overnight and it may linger through around 10 AM with some freezing rain possible for the morning commute – a perfectly typical March day in Sheboygan County. Those hoping for above-normal temperatures will be pleased by Thursday when highs should reach into the upper 40s.
