The most significant winter storm this season has left disruptions in its wake as people dig out and recover from the blow.
Earlier on Monday, Shoreline Metro had hoped to provide reduced services, but by 10 AM had announced cancellation of services for the remainder of the day. The Mead Public Library announced at around the same time that it was closing at 11 AM due to the weather conditions.
Although seasonal winter parking rules had already run their course, the North Fond du Lac Police Department announced that it was declaring a snow emergency, prohibiting parking an all village streets until plow crews had cleared the roadways, with violators risking a tow-away or ticket.
The City of Sheboygan has also extended its snow emergency, initially declared in advance on Friday. Shortly before 3 PM, the City extended the snow emergency until noon on Tuesday in order to handle the job of clearing the snow which, according to a National Weather Service Cooperative Observer located two miles south of the city, totaled 10.7 inches.
