Lindee Brill, Republican Representative for the 27th Assembly District
A bill introduced by Sheboygan Falls State Representative Lindee Brill aimed at preventing the grooming of children for sexual activity has now become law.
Wisconsin Act 88 makes it a crime to groom a child for sexual activity and adds that offense to the state’s legal definition of abuse. The law also increases potential penalties for those convicted of the crime.
In addition, the measure updates Wisconsin law on sexual misconduct involving school personnel and volunteers. The change clarifies that victims under that statute include any pupil enrolled in a school in the state.
