Sheboygan’s only city-owned cemetery is in need of spring cleaning, and the City is asking residents to do their part. The Sheboygan Department of Public Works is asking that all decorations be removed by April 1st so that maintenance of the property can take place. Any items left after that date will be removed by the cemetery staff.
The department is asking that persons then wait until May 1st to place spring or summer decorations. People are also being asked to review rules for decorations, posted below.
Spring decorations allowed starting May 1.
Flowerbeds: 1 foot from the marker, no wider than the marker.
No tall perennials, thorny plants, glass items, or fences/edging
Up to 2 solar lights per marker allowed
Flags must be at least 12 inches above ground
Section 19: artificial flowers only
