March weather has returned after a spectacular Monday began a week that will likely feature a few outbreaks of snow.
But first: yesterday the airport recorded a low of 49 and a high of 69 degrees. That compares with normal readings of 39 for a high and 21 for a low, putting us almost 30 degrees above normal and matching a typical Memorial Day in late May. Now the reality.

While temps will be limited to around 40 today, enough energy exists to produce thunderstorms in Wisconsin overnight with a marginal risk of severe weather in the form of hail covering us along with most of southern Wisconsin. Following the 1/4 to 1/2 inches of rain from the storms, more rain showers, freezing rain and sleet are expected up until noon tomorrow. While little ice and only around a half inch of snow are expected, the timing means the morning commute could be slick.

NWS Graphic
More rain and snow mixed are expected Thursday night, with mostly unsettled weekend weather featuring possible accumulating snow again on Sunday.
