Roars from the skies may again be heard in the Sheboygan and surrounding areas this week as the Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 115th Fighter Wing conducts exercises. While most such activities happen during daylight hours, pilots and maintenance personnel are required to conduct nighttime operations as part of their overall readiness.
As a result, you may hear the F-35 fighter jets overhead until 9 PM now through Thursday, March 12. The squad is headquartered at Truax Field in Madison, however the major controllable airspace designated for such practice is located over Lake Michigan, placing airspace for access over east-central Wisconsin, including Sheboygan County.
