The Sheboygan Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee will study an amendment to its municipal code that limits the numbers of birds and fowl that can be kept at one time.
The amendment to Section 8-15 of the Municipal Code proposes adding language stating that “No more than four ducks, geese, pigeons, chickens, birds, or other fowl may be kept on any premises within the city at one time.” No other alterations to that section are being considered.
Exemptions already exist for institutes of higher learning, or persons holding federal or state persons allowing for more and have no effect on bird feeding.
The Committee considers the amendment when it meets at City Hall at4:30 PM on Tuesday.
