A spring storm could bring heavy rain, and even some severe thunderstorm weather to our part of the state on Friday.
A heads-up for those conditions was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday morning, outlining two waves of rain, one in the morning and the other on Friday night. While the best potential for a one-inch rainfall remains northwest of Highway 151, there’s an outside chance ours will exceed the half inch mark by Saturday morning. While that’s not usually enough for concern, frozen ground will force much of that rain to pond and run off.

The other risk is a two-in-five level of severe thunderstorms roughly southwest of a Kenosha to Madison line, while we’re given a one-in-five risk. If it does occur, the main impacts would be from large hail, damaging winds and the rain.
A partly sunny, breezy Saturday follows with temperatures reaching the mid-50s before falling again for the remainder of the day.
