The weekly drought summary from the National Weather Service indicates no change in Sheboygan County soil conditions over the last week, or month for that matter. The county is divided roughly in thirds, with normal moisture in the south, abnormally dry conditions in the middle, and moderate drought in the north. After January fell short of normal rainfall by over a half inch, February saw only 0.95”. And while February is typically our driest month, normal precipitation would’ve been about double that.
Still, expectations are that we could see drought conditions abate as soon as April.
