It is with very deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Josh’s passing on February 11, 2026 at the young age of 38 after a short battle with cancer. He graduated from South High School in 2005 and spent years working at different factories.
Josh loved to go to the dirt track races from a young age and always wanted to race, and starting working on pit crews and raced a sport mod for two seasons. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad, brothers, and uncle; football with his neighborhood friends and softball. Josh loved to hang out with his cousin, Randall, his niece, Vivian, and nephew, Larry.
He is survived by his father, Craig Mavis; his mother, Jamie (friend John Dyzbalys) Sachse; his uncles: Mike Mavis and Bill (Mandy Hinz) Sachse and their children: TJ Sachse and Jacob Hinz; his aunt, Vicki Mavis; his brothers: Jarred Rautmann and his children: Vivian and Larry Rautmann, James Rautmann and Jonathan (Marinda) Hitsman and their children, Daisy and Lily. He is further survived by his great aunts, Lori Wettstein and Caroline Dikancic; his great uncle, Rory (Bea) Wettstein, his cousins: Justin, Matthew (Lauren) and her son, Oscar, and Randall (Kara) Wettstein and their children: Brayden, Laycie, Peyton, Andrew; and Josh’s godchild, Amelia; special friends, Olivia, Jessica, Rebecca, Richard, and others. Josh will also be missed by his furry companion, Brandy Mae, and many other loving relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents: Thomas and Elaine Mavis and James and Nancy Sachse, his uncle, James Sachse Jr., and Josh is preceded in death by many other loving relatives.
A Celebration of Josh’s Life will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Wild Shots (423 E Mill St, Plymouth, WI 53073) from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
