Red Cross Suggests Training for Cardiac Emergency During Heart Month

With Valentine’s Day coming this Saturday, the American Red Cross has a heartfelt message: Train to save someone experiencing a cardiac emergency.

February is heart month, and with more than 300,000 people experiencing cardiac arrest outside of hospital settings annually in the US, more that 80 percent happen at home, meaning household members are already in the right place at the right time.  The key is to have the right training to take action and save the life.

Classes for Sheboygan area residents are online-only and while a few are free, most cost only $37.00.  Those completing the course online can then enroll within 90 days to achieve certification with an in-person course.
