A Manitowoc man is being treated for gunshot wounds to both ankles, and the woman alleged to have shot him is in custody.
The Manitowoc Police Department was sent to the Trail’s End trailer Park on Johnston Drive at 6:37 AM Monday in response to a 911 call of someone bleeding with gunshot wounds to both ankles. Arriving officers tried without success to make contact at the residence, and due to the urgency of the report a team was formed, forcing entry to the trailer.
A 29-year-old Manitowoc woman was immediately taken into custody, and a 35-year-old Manitowoc man, wounded in both ankles, was located inside as well. He received treatment on-scene and was then transported to a medical facility by Manitowoc City Fire and Rescue.
The woman is now jailed, facing 3 counts of Recklessly Endangering Safety, 1 count of Disorderly Conduct / DVO, which by Wisconsin statute applies to Domestic Disorderly Conduct between individuals in a household or familial relationship, and 1 count of Resisting an Officer. The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Manitowoc Police Department Shift Commander at 920-686-6551.
