That lake effect snow will be falling Friday and Saturday is nearly guaranteed…but where it falls is anything but. That’s the challenge of National Weather Service meteorologists charged with advising the public for planning and safety, and it comes down to two questions.

NWS Graphic
The first question concerns organization; the more organized the band of snow, the better the chance of impacting someone. The second question concerns where that band tracks; the further west it goes, the higher the likelihood that eastern Wisconsin counties from Sheboygan on southward receive accumulation. The other possibility is that snow stays over Lake Michigan, leaving us untouched.
Whatever does happen will most likely occur between 8 AM Friday and 6 PM Saturday, and the National Weather Service says they’ll know more about who gets how much snow by either later today or tomorrow morning.
