Maya Nicole Diaz 1/9/2024 – 12/9/2025
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
Maya Diaz, beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, and cherished member of our family, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at the tender age of 23 months. Though her time on earth was far too short, Maya filled every moment with joy, laughter, and the purest light.
Maya loved to dance, and her little feet were always moving to the rhythm of life. We believe she is now dancing freely with the angels in heaven’s sky, called by God to share her beautiful spirit in His kingdom. Her joy, her smile, and her gentle presence will remain forever in our hearts.
It is heartbreaking to lose her so young, and we hold tightly to our faith as we navigate this unimaginable grief. We pray that God keeps her safe in heaven and that she may dance to her heart’s content in His loving embrace.
Maya will be forever loved and remembered by her family and all who were blessed to know her. Maya is survived by her mother and step-father Aubree & Alberto Talledo; father and step-mother Jose & Layne (Varish) Diaz; brothers Anthony and Jonathan Guerrero and Eithan Diaz; sisters Vanessa Guerrero and Sofia Diaz; Grandparents Robert Osborn, Kim Navidad, Antonia Ordaz Castor, Rafael Diaz, George and Wendy Varish and Great Grandma Pat Coop; Uncles Edwin Lehmann, Raul Diaz, Jorge Tavera and Geo Varish; Aunts Ashlee Prado and Dulce Tavera; and many friends both big and small.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Maya will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton, WI. (just off HWY 42) Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 1:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt support during this difficult time—especially Bob and the staff at Reinbold Novak Funeral Home, Vicki and Father Dave of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, the police officers and investigators on the scene, and all who have reached out with their kindness. It is truly God’s gift through Maya that she has awakened and brought out the love and compassion within so many people.
Psalm 149:3 tells us, “Let them praise His name with dancing!” Dance, little Maya…dance with joy and laughter that will echo in our hearts forever. We will see you again, Princess.
