The roaring skies have returned as the Wisconsin Air National Guard hones their skills fighting from the skies.
The 115th Fighter Wing out of Truax Field in Madison says that they’ll be conducting evening training flights now through Thursday. You’ll likely hear the F-35 aircraft overhead between sunset and 7:30 PM as they traverse the area to Lake Michigan where the air space can be closed to commercial and civilian traffic while the crews practice.
The Guard said that they normally practice during daylight hours, but pilots and maintenance personnel are required to conduct nighttime operations as part of their overall readiness.
