Whether you’re a walker, a driver, a biker, roller or a rider, the City of Sheboygan wants your input on transportation safety.
For the first time ever, the City is developing a Transportation Safety Action Plan to evaluate existing roadway safety conditions, and then make recommendations for new infrastructure and policies in the city to meet the goal of reducing and preventing roadway fatalities.
According to Wisconsin DOT statistics an average of 4.6 roadway fatalities happened each year in Sheboygan County from 2015-2019, but City-only information wasn’t available. Ideally, though, City Hall would like to see that number at zero.
A community meeting to gather ideas on how to increase safety will be held this coming Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Sheboygan YMCA Conference room. Whatever your age, and however you get around, your input is welcome.
