An early Friday morning pursuit ended in jail for the driver and a ride to the Sheriff’s Office for four juvenile occupants.
It all happened at midnight in the City of Fond du Lac where a Sheriff’s deputy noticed a vehicle being driven recklessly near the city’s industrial park. That vehicle was tracked onto northbound Highway 175 where it was clocked at 82 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Attempts to stop with lights & siren failed as the driver accelerated northbound on Main Street and turned out the lights, ran a red light at Pioneer Road, and entered the Elms Mobile Homes Trailer Park before running off a concrete pad and into a grassy area. There, a high-risk traffic stop was conducted and the driver arrested without further incident.
The 17-year-old male operating the vehicle is now in jail on charges of Felony Fleeing and Eluding, and Operating with a Restricted Controlled Substance. The four juvenile passengers were released to parents and guardians.
