With snow in the forecast and December on the doorstep, it’s worth noting that winter parking regulations go into effect for the City of Sheboygan on Monday. From then until March 31st, vehicles being parked on the street overnight have to use alternating sides. On odd-numbered days, like Monday December 1st, vehicles need to park on odd-numbered sides of the street between midnight and 6 AM, and so on Sunday night park on the odd side. Then park on the even side on Monday night. “No Parking” rules don’t change on marked streets…it’s still no parking regardless. In simple terms: Park for Tomorrow.
If a snow emergency is needed, notifications will be posted with 24-hour public notice. That will prohibit parking on snow emergency routes, boulevards, cul-de-sacs and dead-end streets. Once the un-parked side is cleared, vehicles need to be moved to the opposite side before midnight. If you violate the rules, that’ll cost you $50 and the ticket will have to be paid before recovering any vehicle that was towed.
