One person died in a Winnebago County head-on crash on Monday morning. The Sheriff there said that a total of three vehicles were involved, one of them a semi-tractor, another vehicle that collided initially, and a third which then became involved.
The crash happened on Highway 76 just southwest of the Appleton International Airport. First responders found one driver unresponsive upon arrival; that 63-year-old Neenah man was declared deceased at the scene. The two other drivers had only minor injuries.
Highway 76 had to be closed for several hours for reconstruction and cleanup, and the accident remains under investigation.
