A hunter has died from an apparent accidental gunshot wound. The victim, a 24-year-old Lomira man, was found by another man hunting in the Town of Oakfield earlier in the day. He was deceased near a tree stand at the eastern edge of the Horicon Marsh, and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was notified at about 8:30 Saturday night.
Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Lifestar Ambulance, and Oakfield Fire Department responded to the scene and located the man, dead from the accidental discharge.
While the accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff and the Wisconsin DNR, there is no danger to the public and no more information is being released for the time being.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as 24-year-old Michael Kottke of Lomira.
