Governor Tony Evers announced on Thursday that $700,000 is on its way to the Village of Saukville for a roadway improvement project that will serve, among others, the new facility of Sheboygan-based American Orthodontics. The factory is a major occupant of the Village’s Northern Gateway development, and the roadway project will employ 146 persons to improve traffic flow for employees, vendors, and deliveries to the company.
According to the announcement, Market Street will be extended northward to American Orthodontics, providing access to Wisconsin Highway 33. The new roadway will consist of both a raised wetland crossing with culverts and earthwork, as well as a section of village standard surface roadway.
The grant is funded through Wisconsin’s Transportation Economic Assistance program. No construction schedule was included in Thursday’s announcement.
