A man trying to evade a stop for speeding now has more serious infractions to deal with after taking pursuing officers on a circuitous route on Friday night.
A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy had clocked an eastbound vehicle doing 50 MPH in a 30 MPH zone on West Scott Street near Pearl Lane in the northwest part of that city. Lights & sirens didn’t persuade the driver to stop, but he continued eastbound on Scott until turning south on Peters Avenue and increasing his speed.
The pursuit then went west on Security Drive, north through the Countryside Apartments parking lots and back onto eastbound Scott Street.
The driver repeated his previous path onto Peters Avenue and Security Drive until heading north on Pioneer Road and, once again, heading eastbound on Scott Street where officers conducted a high-risk stop, ending the chase.
The 22-year-old Fond du Lac man had a suspended license and was on probation for Disorderly Conduct. He is now jailed on charges of Felony Fleeing and Eluding along with a probation hold.
