A fire caused heavy damage to a barn and its contents in the Town of Lima on Friday afternoon.
The Sheboygan County Emergency Dispatch Center was called just before 3:45 PM Friday with reports of a skid loader that was on fire inside of a barn on Sumac Road, just over 2 miles southeast of the City of Plymouth.
The property owner had completed his chores and parked his skid loader inside the barn and shed. A short time later the owner saw smoke coming from the building and there were attempts to put it out, but without success, and the skid loader became fully engulfed.
Responding firefighters from Waldo, the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth and Oostburg combined to extinguish the blaze, but not before the building and its contents were damaged.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
