The iconic game figure PacMan is getting a revival from the American Red Cross, which is hoping to attract blood donors that could revive real people.
The organization says that the last two months of the year present challenges to maintaining blood and platelet supplies as donors find their schedules tied up with holiday activities. But demand for blood donations, especially those with types O-negative, O-positive and B-negative, rarely diminishes, and the Red Cross is already seeing a drop in donor turnout.
As an incentive, the 45th anniversary of PacMan will be observed by offering an exclusive pair of Red Cross x PacMan Socks, while supplies last, to those donating between November 17th and December 7th. They can also receive a custom Red Cross PacMan Gashapon collectible that’s expected to go quickly.
