Alcohol is suspected as being a factor in an accident that sent one person to a hospital equipped for advanced treatment of injuries today.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded around noon to the report of a single vehicle crash on Seven Hills Road between Golf Course Road and Cody Road in the township of Forest, about two miles southwest of Mount Calvary. The Mount Calvary Fire Department was the first responder to the scene, and extricated the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 50-year-old woman from Malone, from the vehicle with hydraulic tools. She was airlifted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah for advanced medical treatment.
Investigators believe that the vehicle, southbound on Seven Hills Road just south of Cody Road, left the roadway and entered the east ditch, striking a utility pole and overturning. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was trapped inside by the impact. Seven Hills Road was closed for about two hours following the crash, which remains under investigation. The name of the driver is being withheld at this time.
