A recovery group for those battling alcohol and drug addiction is growing in Sheboygan, both in service, and in ability to serve. Breaking Chains Recovery, which operates several initiatives in Sheboygan County, announced on Monday that it’s been officially approved as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a step that enables it to raise funds with federal tax exemptions, and with tax deductions for donors.
The designation comes even as Breaking Chains plans on expanding its services. Its latest project concerns the opening of a sober transitional living home for women next month, a place intended to be a safe and supportive space where women can continue their recovery with dignity, strength, and community.
The physical location is being prepared and donations of beds & mattresses, furniture and household items are now being encouraged. And as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax-deductible monetary donations can now be made as well. Anyone wishing to make a material or cash donation can contact Breaking Chains during regular business hours Monday through Friday.
529 Ontario Avenue, Sheboygan.
