Concerns of a person trapped in a fire prompted quick response, and fortunately, resulted in no injuries during a Saturday afternoon fire in the Town of Rhine.
The Elkhart Lake and Glenbeulah Fire Departments were dispatched to the fire at 9034 Sebald Road in the Town of Rhine at 5:18 PM Saturday for a structure fire, possibly with a person unable to escape on their own. A heightened alarm was issued, however upon arrival it was determined that the fire was in a shop adjacent to the residence, and nobody was trapped.
Crews quickly extinguished the blaze with minimal extension to the rest of the building and equipment. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters, and the scene was cleared by 8 PM. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
