Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Dept
Luck ran out on a driver trying to evade law enforcement after two previous pursuits were abandoned.
Just after 3 AM Saturday the Fond du Lac County Communications Center was notified by Kaukauna Police of a vehicle southbound on I-41 that had been stopped for a speed violation. As police chased it the driver sped up, began swerving, and evaded stop sticks.
While that pursuit was abandoned, a Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle and also attempted to stop it with lights & sirens, and they eventually ended their pursuit.
As the vehicle entered Fond du Lac County the driver, noticing law enforcement, again increased his speed, initiating a third pursuit, weaving through lanes as he did. Another Deputy was able to successfully deploy stop sticks, deflating all four tires and bringing the vehicle to a halt some 2.7 miles into Fond du Lac County.
The driver, a 35-year-old Kaukauna man, is now in jail facing charges of felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and suspicion of operating while impaired.
