The National Weather Service is feeling less confident about the need for a heat advisory on Thursday, at least as far as the coverage area – and Sheboygan County – are concerned.
Clouds from Wednesday morning rain did limit the onset of hot, humid conditions over Wisconsin. However, the Heat Advisory was continued in effect until 8 this evening for Heat Index values expected in the range of 100-105 degrees. Overnight lows will be limited to the mid 70s, providing little relief.
On Thursday, heat index values will again rise to near 100 in far southeast Wisconsin, but slightly lower values in the mid-upper 90s are expected for areas along and north of a Port Washington to Janesville line, and an advisory was not issued for Thursday in Sheboygan County.

NWS Graphic
A cold front that will displace the oppressive airmass is forecast to move gradually southeastward through Wisconsin’s southeastern reaches on Thursday, providing isolated precipitation. Should thunderstorms result, they should be exiting overnight, followed by quiet conditions and cooler temperatures.
