It might seem early, but the annual crush of Independence Day-related traffic on the roadways begins tomorrow. The Triple-A of Wisconsin said that a projected 72.2 million Americans will take to the roads and airlines from now through Sunday, July 6th, and that’s 1.7 million more than last year.
Here in the Badger State, more than 1.47 million will take to the roads, a 2-1/2 percent increase over last year. Another 59,000 Wisconsinites will take to the skies, and over 100,000 more will be on trains, boats & buses.
According to travel analytics company, INRIX, the worst travel days begin tomorrow between noon and 5 PM and continue each day until those returning home clog the roads between noon and 6 on Sunday the 6th. Triple-A said that in general, traveling before 10 or 11 AM each day should give you more open roads and an easier trip.
