The Sheboygan Fire Department's Engine 1964 Unveiled in July, 2022
The Sheboygan Fire Department said that it took about 2-1/2 hours to address a house fire and its aftermath in the 1300 block of North 4th Street late on Tuesday.
The County Emergency Communications Center got the first report of the structure fire at 10:25 PM, sending Sheboygan Fire Department Crews arriving on the scene within two minutes. Those first crews found a 3-story house with normal conditions and with all occupants out and accounted for. The residents told firefighters that they’d find the fire on the second floor.
Crews encountered black smoke upon entry and took a hose line to the second floor where they located and extinguished the fire. Firemen thoroughly searched the building and laid tarps to prevent further damage to the first floor below.
One resident was displaced in the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation. The estimate of loss was put at $25,000.
