Nancy Rose (Ruppenthal) Diener gained her wings on April 19, 2025. She was born on February 29,
1944, in Hilbert, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Esther (Grube) Ruppenthal. She was a graduate of
Hilbert High School. She was united in marriage to Robert F. Diener on June 28, 1969. During their 56
years of marriage, they created their family consisting of two daughters, Penny and Dawn.
Nancy was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at Office Supply and Printing Company, JCPennys,
Schenek and Associates, and later at Al’s foods before retiring early due to health reasons. She was an
avid member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Nancy loved sewing, whether it was fixing
things for her family, making handmade animal towels for each of the grand and great-grandchildren.
She also liked making many holiday banners and helped sew quilt pieces for church. She also loved
playing cards with family and friends or on her kindle. Nancy was an avid cook, always cooking or baking
something for every family function.
Nancy is survived by her husband Robert, their two daughters Penny (Lincoln) Gregory and Dawn
(Kenneth Benirschke) Diener; four grandchildren Bryanna (Travis Schwark) Gregory, Taylor (Selena)
Gregory, Jade (Corey) Kornetzke, and Brayden (Callie Gorman) Benirschke; great-grandchildren Olivia
and Benson Kolberg, Trae Schwark, Eloise Gregory, and Paisley and Asher Kornetzke, all of Sheboygan;
brothers Robert (Jeanette) Ruppenthal, Jerome Ruppenthal, Thomas (Betty) Ruppenthal, brother-in-law
Dennis Diener, and sister-in-law Carol (Timothy) Pfeiffer. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved
dog, Buddy, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her sister Marjorie (Eugene) Basten, brothers-in-law Jerome and Allen
Diener, and sisters-in-law Judith Ruppenthal, Rose and Deborah Diener.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice, especially Todd,
Jenna and Chris during Nancy’s final journey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Sharon S.
Richardson Hospice.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13 th St. Sheboygan, on Thursday,
April 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Alan Kretschmar officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with
the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
A private burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Sheboygan.
