City of Sheboygan firefighters made quick work of a blaze that hit a central Sheboygan home on Sunday.
The fire broke out in the home located in the 1100 block of Ontario Avenue in Sheboygan at around around 1:20 p.m. Sunday. It took less than 2 minutes after being dispatched for crews to arrive on the scene where they found smoke coming from the second floor of the house.
The residents had already evacuated the building and firefighters put the fire out within 5 minutes. The operation was done quickly and efficiently enough that nobody was displaced. There were no injuries, and in apparent nod to the cause of the fire, the SFD is reminding the public to be careful with smoking materials, and to be sure that cigarettes are disposed of properly.
