Joseph “Joe” T. Lawrence, age 72, of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was born in Sheboygan on February 3, 1953, the son of the late Lyle and Louise Malinowski Lawrence.
Joe graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1971. On September 14, 1974, he was united in marriage to Karen Kaker in Sheboygan. Joe was a manager at Food Queen, Red Owl, and retired from Blattners Piggly Wiggly.
Joe loved vacations up north with his family, camping, and fishing on Lake Puckaway with his brother and sister-in-law, John & Deb Lawrence, his children, and grandchildren. Joe also enjoyed spending time with his children, and grandchildren, Kady, and Josie, and taking walks at Kohler-Andrae State Park.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Lawrence, of Sheboygan; two children, Marijo Lawrence, of Sheboygan, and Jesse F. (Karen S.) Lawrence, of Two Rivers; grandchildren, Kady N. Schwartz, and Josie K. Lawrence; brother, John (Debra) Lawrence, of Sheboygan; sister, Teri (Eugene) Ney, of Jackson, MI; and his two brothers-in-law, Kurt Kaker, of Verona, WI, and Gary Kaker, of Sheboygan. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Mary, brothers, Lyle Jr., and Gerald (Jerry) Lawrence, and his sister-in-law, Lucy Kaker.
A celebration of life for Joe will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Hops Haven Brew Haus, 1327 N. 14th Street, Sheboygan, family, and friends may gather from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Lutheran Cemetery Mausoleum.
