A messy weather system is poised to present potential problems this afternoon, with the unwelcome transition from rain to snow possibly causing issues with the evening commute.
Forecasters say the culprit is the convergence of several individual features coming together over the Great Lakes region, meaning a mix of precipitation for the Sheboygan area.
All rain should kick off the events early this afternoon, with wet snow mixing, and then dominating the weather through the early evening hours. Unfortunately, the timing is not the best for afternoon and evening commuters, although things could present more of a nuisance than a problem. Only grassy and elevated surfaces are expected to collect the snow โ likely maxing out between one and two inches, leaving roadways wet for the most part. However rates could be high enough between 3 and 7 p.m. to create a few slippery spots and reduced visibility.
