LaVerne Simmons was born in Chicago, IL on December 11, 1964, to Ora Lee Simmons and Hubert Simmons.
LaVerne received her education in the Chicago Public School system. She attended Scott Grammer School and Hyde Park Academy.
LaVerne had a love for cooking and playing cards with her family and friends. She was the life of the party, and she left an impression with everyone that she came in contact with.
LaVerne joined Loving Missionary Baptist Church on May 27, 2012, in Bloomington, IL under the leadership of Pastor William Johnson.
LaVerne leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Latrice Roberts and son, Pierre Simmons; her grandchildren, Martice Newton, Kayleese Simmons, Latisha Newton, Nevaeh Simmons, Valilia Laverne Williams, and Pierre Simmons Jr.; her siblings Willie (Juliet) Simmons, Herbert (Juanita) Simmons, David (Charr) Simmons and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Ora Lee Simmons and Hubert Simmons; son, Kevin Simmons; sister, Ann Simmons; brother, Alvin Simmons; grandparents, Mary and Harvey Coffey; nephew Alvin Simmons; uncle Cal Coffey.
A time of gathering and memory sharing will take place this Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan.
